Confirm or Reject Auto-Titles on Catalog Pages¶
Alation Cloud Service Applies to Alation Cloud Service instances of Alation
Customer Managed Applies to customer-managed instances of Alation
Important
You are viewing documentation for Classic Alation.
You can confirm or discard titles suggested by Lexicon, or auto-titles, directly in a catalog page of a data object. Confirming or rejecting a suggested title also “teaches” ALLIE the auto-titling engine to make better guesses next time. These changes take effect the next time the Lexicon job runs.
If multiple expansions exist for an abbreviation, the one with the highest confidence score is used the next time Lexicon encounters that abbreviation. Confirming a title increases the confidence score for its associated expansion.
Users with Viewer or Editor access to the catalog page can confirm and reject suggested titles.
When Lexicon suggests a correct title, you can confirm it to increase its confidence score. Confirming a title helps Lexicon prioritize that abbreviation-expansion pair in future auto-title generation.
To confirm or reject an auto-title:
Hover over a title with the yellow or red robot head indicator to reveal the Confirm/Reject pop-up.
Click the checkmark to confirm a title or the cross to reject it.
If you reject an auto-title, consider editing it and adding a correct title.
