Today I’m thrilled to share that we’ve added two new, seasoned leaders to the Alation Product Team. Diby Malakar joins as our new Vice President of Product Management, Cloud & Technical Metadata Platform and Jonathan Bruce is our new Vice President of Product Management, Catalog, Governance & Data Exploration Apps & Logical Metadata Platform.
Diby and Jonathan boast a wealth of relevant experience, having led growth at scale at both public and private data management and enterprise SaaS companies, including Salesforce, Confluent, Informatica, and Cloudflare. They are excited to join Alation as we accelerate into our next phase of growth and expanded market leadership. I couldn’t be more pleased to have them join us at this moment in our journey.
Diby joins us from Confluent, where he was one of their product leaders during their hyper-growth phase through IPO. He has held product & engineering leadership positions at Informatica, Oracle and SnapLogic over his 20+ year career.
In his new role, Diby will:
Be responsible for all cloud infrastructure and technical metadata platform areas
Oversee the connectors and lineage product areas
Drive cloud growth, as well as pricing and packaging for all products
I’m excited to welcome Diby because he brings in deep domain expertise in data management. At Informatica, he pioneered the concept of self-service data integration and data quality. As VP of Product Management at Oracle, he was one of the founding PM leaders instrumental in building a multi-billion dollar public cloud IaaS business. He brings in decades of experience in data integration, as well as metadata management and data governance. Diby has gone through the cloud journey a couple of times before, and we are excited to leverage his rich experience and lessons learned as we accelerate Alation’s journey to the cloud.
Jonathan joins us from PeopleLogic, where he was Chief Product Officer. In his 20+ year career, Jonathan has held product leadership roles at Commure, Cloudflare (through their IPO), as well as Salesforce and Sun Microsystems.
In his new role, Jonathan will:
Be responsible for our app product portfolio across catalog, governance, and data exploration
Accelerate the availability and utility for Alation’s logical metadata platform
Develop and deepen technical and product partnerships that expand Alation’s data intelligence platform to further fuel enterprise innovation
I’m excited to welcome Jonathan as he brings enterprise-grade product experience that will deeply benefit the Alation community. As one of the original architects for primary data access APIs for the Java platform, Jonathan has a track record of delivering transformative products that enable customers to bring their data to life. These include products across the core Salesforce platform with Big Data services and storage like Salesforce Shield for compliance and auditability. He has also been instrumental in bootstrapping and steering major partnerships with IBM and AWS. We look forward to benefiting from Jonathan’s broad experience across the entire Alation customer base.
Please join me in giving a warm welcome to Diby and Jonathan!
