Today, we’re honored to be named to Constellation Research’s ShortList™ for Data Cataloging for the fourth consecutive year. In an increasingly noisy data cataloging space, this recognition is a reminder that Alation continues to lead the pack with 100+ customers and a unique solution built on the combination of human collaboration and machine learning.
To draw up the ShortList, Constellation Research’s Vice President and Principal Analyst Doug Henschen evaluated more than a dozen of the industry’s best data cataloging solutions, judging companies based on a combination of client inquiries, partner conversations, customer references, vendor selection projects, market share and internal research. The latest ShortList specifically evaluated solutions based on criteria such as machine learning and collaboration capabilities — two areas that shine in the Alation Data Catalog.
Since analyst firms like Gartner and Forrester first started to galvanize around data catalogs, the Alation Data Catalog has consistently been at the top of the lists of industry experts. Recent recognition for the Alation Data Catalog includes:
In addition to earning the top ranking in Dresner Advisory Services’ 2018 Wisdom of Crowds® Data Catalog Market Study2, Alation was also named a winner in the Data Catalog category of Dresner’s 2018 Technology Innovation Awards.
The award recipients include the top-ranked vendors stemming from the Wisdom of Crowds® annual thematic research reports, with the Data Catalog category recognizing technologies offering the user requirements to locate and leverage metadata, data, models, and data elements within an organization, covering both governance and collaborative capabilities.
In the latest IDC Innovators: Data Intelligence Software Platforms, 20193 report, Alation was profiled as one vendor disrupting the data integration and integrity software market with a differentiated data intelligence software platform.
The report was created to size and forecast software that is used in the processes of data governance, data quality management, and self-service data – each having become significant in this new era of digital transformation and complex regulatory restrictions.
Alation recently received Ventana’s 2018 Digital Innovation Award for Big Data based on Alation TrustCheck, a breakthrough way to transform information stewardship with more effective and responsive data governance.
The Digital Innovation Award for Big Data specifically recognizes the technology vendor that best exemplifies innovation in big data and related technologies for supporting data- and information management-related needs.
The recognition of industry experts from analyst firms like Constellation Research, Dresner Advisory Services, IDC, and Ventana Research is amazing validation for the innovation that has made us a leader in the Machine Learning Data Catalog space, but we want to innovate beyond the boundaries of where data catalogs are creating value today. Stay tuned!
